     Michael Godfrey was born circa 1668. He was a merchant whose father predicted that his speculations would 'speedily bring into hotchpott the whole of their ample fortunes. in 1680. He He supported William Paterson in the establishment of the Bank of England. Rewarded by being elected the first deputy-governor of the bank. The bank resolved to establish a branch in Antwerp and he was sent to negotiate it. While visiting the king William he went into the trenches where a cannon-ball killed him as he 'stood near the king'. in 1694. He died on 17 July 1695 at Namur, Belgium.

     Peter Godfrey was born circa 1670. He was apprenticed to 'his father Michael Godfrey, Citizen and Mercer of London and free of the Eastland and East India Company.' on 19 November 1680. He was a merchant who worked alongside his brother Michael. Elected a director of the Bank of England in 1695. in 1690.

     Elizabeth Godfrey was born before 10 November 1669. She was baptized on 10 November 1669 at St Katherine Cree, London.

     Thomas Godfrey married Margaret Lambard. Thomas Godfrey was born in 1584 at Hodiford, Kent. He married Sarah Isles circa 1625. Thomas Godfrey died in 1664 at Kent.
