He married Mary Williams on 14 March 1805 at St David's Cathedral, St Davids; Witnesses: Thomas Perkin, Henry Phillips.1,4 Late John Perkins (d 1835) of St Davids and Catherine his wife, with Henry Perkins of Llanvern (farmer), their eldest son, were party to an Indenture - surrender of lease.5 Henry Perkins died on 23 January 1852 at St Davids Parish.1,3 He was buried on 27 January 1852 at Llanrhian Churchyard, Pembrokeshire, S Wales; Will registered - 10 May 1852.3

John Perkins was born on 9 April 1812 at Llanvirn, Pembrokeshire, S Wales. He immigrated on 17 July 1838 to Van Diemans Land, Hobart. He travelled on ship - Wave; He travelled on ship Wave. He established Perkins & Bennett on corner of Brisbane and St Johns St in September 1838 at Launceston. He married Emmely Frances Watchorn, daughter of William Watchorn and Susanna Eliza Perkins, on 23 April 1840 at St Davids Church, Hobart Town, Van Diemans Land (Tasmania). In 1843John Perkins was a partner in Watchorn & Perkins which became Perkins and Nephew on death of Mr Watchorn. He retired in 1871 but shop contined under that name for another 11 years at least. He was elected to House of Assembly for Kingborough electorate, Tasmania on 29 May 1861. He was the Chairman of a Select Committee on Immigration, Hobart on 8 September 1864.1 He married Elizabeth Wilson on 14 December 1865 at Melbourne, Vic, Australia; Registration No 4267.2,3 John Perkins left Parliament in October 1866. He died on 5 August 1877 at Roseville, Macquarie Street, Hobart, Tasmania, at age 65.
